JOSE RAMIREZ

Currently serving as President of the Georgia Gang Investigators Association (GGIA) and the National Alliance of Gang Investigators Association (NAGIA). In these leadership roles, he works to advance training, collaboration, and policy development among law enforcement and public safety professionals nationwide. He is also an active member of the International Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association (IOMGIA), the International Latin Gang Investigators Association (ILGIA), the South Carolina Gang Investigators Association (SCGIA), and the North Carolina Gang Investigators Association (NCGIA).

Having over 24 years of law enforcement experience, with most of that time focused on investigating and studying gangs. Previously served with the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department in various roles, including Patrol Officer, Crime Suppression Unit Officer, Robbery Detective, Homicide Detective, and Gang Detective. Drawing from both professional and personal experiences, I possess extensive knowledge in training law enforcement officers on the prevention, intervention, and suppression of criminal street gangs. I am well-equipped to assist school administrations, staff, school resource officers, and superintendents in assessing and improving school safety policies and practices.

Jose Ramirez has also served as an expert witness in numerous high-profile criminal and civil cases, providing critical insights into gang activity, culture, and identification. His expertise has supported prosecutions involving criminal street gangs, prison gangs, and outlaw motorcycle gangs, helping bring justice to those affected by gang-related crime.
