Gang Awareness & Intervention for SROs

Service Description

This two-day course is designed for School Resource Officers responsible for maintaining safety in school environments. The training focuses on recognizing and responding to criminal street gangs and other criminal organizations operating within schools and at school-related functions. Participants will learn to identify gang indicators, including culture, symbols, graffiti, clothing, tattoos, social media activity, and other forms of gang paraphernalia. The course equips SROs with practical skills to properly recognize, document, and address gang-related activity, as well as strategies for developing and implementing an effective Gang Awareness and Intervention Program within their school or district. Instruction is delivered through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises to reinforce real-world application.
